The Prayer of Petition

Our Lord’s words, “Ask and you shall receive,” beautifully express the infallibility of our prayers of petition. God will give us everything we need, but He has instructed us first to pray. Our prayer must be persevering, confident, and humble. There are many gifts from God, which He desires to give us, but they remain contingent on our asking for them. From eternity, like a good Father, God has desired to give us His assistance, if we will just say, “Please.” It is the power given by God Himself that makes our petitions infallible.
